Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a game changer across industries, transforming how businesses operate. AI is everywhere,and you may even be interacting with it on a daily basiscompletely unaware. Although using AI in business has become more mainstream recently, the first AI is over 60 years old, but it has grown fast in recent years. The boom of ChatGPT and the recent introduction of DeepSeek has left people asking, could it replace our jobs? Has AI already taken over the world of business? What measures do companies implement to take advantage of it? Does the introduction of AI depend on business sectors? This program will take a closer look at AI in business.
Structural Approach
The structural approach of this program is the USP of this CAS Game Changer AI.
Today’s executives and decision-makers need to understand how to harness the potential of big data analytics, data science and (generative) artificial intelligence. This CAS program enables executives to build an AI strategy, improve daily business operations and develop data-driven innovations in order to create competitive advantages. This program offers a sound conceptual understanding of AI technologies through a business lens. It provides the skills, knowledge and methods for the management of data analytics and (generative) AI as well as to build effective data-driven organizations. The individual AI Innovation Project provides the opportunity to work on a real case and to develop a prototypic data-driven business innovation.
CAS Game Changer AI - Modules
Target audience
Executives in IT, Innovation, Strategy, Marketing, Sales or Logistics. Participants of this university program usually come from Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. The program is ideal for executives with little or no expertise in analytics, statistics, machine learning or programming.
Executives that will initiate and executes AI projects and/or will be engage in implementing AI in new business models and corporate strategies.
Course content
State-of-the art Learning Management System with learning materials for self-study, interactive input Modules with experts from theory and industry, guided learning transfer (practical project), guest lectures by AI pioneers, peer learning and networking opportunities. Participants will develop an AI real case idea into a prototypic data-driven business innovation.
The destination of the optional AI Immersion Study Tour is the Merantix AI Campus in Berlin. This initiative stands at the forefront of the AI revolution in Europe. It’s a hub for startups that are already using AI to increase customer focus, personalize interactions,and drive more value across functions like finance, analytics, supply chain, and manufacturing. Curated to inspire, this AI Immersion study trip is a 1.5-day experience that gives exclusive access to business insights from top innovators, AI entrepreneurs, industry experts as well as tech investors

Understand what data science and generative AI are and learn how data powers machine learning and deep learning, leading to improved decision-making and the creation of business solutions. Be aware of its applications and limitations across various industries.

Structure, assessment, and degree
The study program is divided into four modules:
- AI - Technology Perspective (2 ECTS) plus optional AI Immersion Study Trip (1 ETCS)
- AI – Leaderhip Perspective (3 ETCS)
- AI – Strategy Perspective (3 ETCS)
- AI – Innovation Project (2 ETCS)
A total of 10 ECTS are required in order to successfully complete the CAS. An ECTS credit corresponds to a workload of around 30 hours. Each module is worth 2 or 3 ECTS credits. This comprises attendance time during the course days as well as preparatory and follow-up work.
Teaching language
Lessons are in English. The course documents are generally in English.
Assessment
- An assessment must be completed for each module.
- For the fourth module AI- Innovation Project, a real case on a selected topic must be completed.
- A pass/fail grading scheme applies to all assessments.
Degree
A total of 10 ECTS are required in order to successfully complete the CAS and obtain a Certificate of Advanced Studies UZH in Game Changer AI.
